These English Civil War canteens made from a Jack leather tarred . This example as seen in Neumann’s book shows it was cut out and used as a wall box at some point but then repaired back to a canteen. Dating in the 1650 period you just don’t see these often. Measuring 6 by 7 inches with original strap as well. Great 17th century item.
